Grass N' Rocks

Looking for something different to ski. So I headed for the hills of Heriman to ski the long grassy side of the mountain. It was slippary with rocks to dodge. Four short runs no broken legs.

One More Step

Never hike straight up the slope you want to ski down. Back at the Point looking for some new angels and new runs to ski down. Great place for rock skiing, the rocks are nice and small. A little bit of sinking at first but when I got my speed up I was back on top cruising and cutting down the slope. I took four runs before I was wiped out from hiking back up. Where is my chair lift.
18. North Point

Double Take

Steep and rocky going down the side of the mountain. Going down was more of a jump turn method trying to keep my skis on riding the big rocks down. Ruff riding. Walking back to my car I defiantly got some weird looks by the passing joggers and bikers.

Run Down

Ahh, what am I doing here. Rock skiing just isn't what it use to be. The point is getting harder to ski every year. Weeds are starting to fill in and the bigger rocks are popping up. Took my four runs in the gully of the point. It was early in the morning so it wasn't too hot. Dragged myself back up to my car and left.
15. Point Mt.

Out of Bounds

Rock skiing again. Went up to the point to ski but did not ski my usual spots. I skied out of bounds on the north side where Geneva rock has all there big sand pit. The place was a ghost town because of the holiday. I took advantage of that and had the place to myself. I could have spent all day skiing the different slopes. perfect conditions for rock skiing. Small rock pebbles gave me some good speed down and easy to turn and stay in control.
14. Point Mt.

Thin Patches

Not bad for July skiing. The snow was hard as concrete but turning on the snow glaciers wasn't too bad. Skied down some thin patches of snow, not much room for error.
