Ever Green
Skiing the bumps and anything I could find to entertain my ski class. We found a new trail opened that had some powder on it. My class took awhile to ski it but they survived and I got to ski some powder. A small taste of why I ski.

Frost Moss
Drove up Mill Creek Canyon to see what it has to offer. I stopped at a mossy area with water running under the moss. It was cold enough to have frost on some of the area. It was a little ruff skiing over some large rocks but over the the frosty moss it made for a good slide. Most of my runs were a straight line down because the terrain made it hard to turn. At the bottom there was a pond that I skied into a few time before my boots were too wet.

Slow Sand
It takes 2 hours to drive to Little Sahara just outside of Nephi. Once you there it take another 45 minutes to climb to the top of one of the peaks. Sand Skiing down in a couple minutes at Little Sahara. What madness for a little fun in the sand. My brother Craig tagging along to try some sand boarding. The first time down was a slow. The first section was steep enough to get me going but 50 yards from the bottom i stopped because the slope wast steep enough. After two runs I thought I was done. I think we both were dehydrated and getting closer to heat exhaustion. We decided to hike up a third time on a new spot that had shady stops on the way up. Last run down was steeper an there were some patches of green weeds the I skied over on the way down that helped me gain speed. Best run of the three.

Steep Cups
One wrong step or slip wouldn't slide resulted in a wick slide and curtain injury wit big rock to break your fall. Hiking up the apron of devils Castle wasn't easy. Steep and the glacier was full of cups to make it bumpy. Going down was ruff and hard on turns. Very little snow spray and had to control my speed on the was down. Falling wasn't an option unless you like broken bones. Big section of snow, but tough to ski.

Recommitted
I've checked out this spot twice and I finally went for it. Dropped down the sandy slope gaining speed the Turns on the sand was tricky. Short turns worked the best, any time I made a big turn I would sink and crash. On the way down the slope I had to turn around some bushes. Good spot to sand ski.

Snow Hunt
I'm not willing to let this ski season end. Driving up little Cottonwood to find something to ski on. The biggest snow patch and easiest to get to is still Mt. Superior. Hiked into Suicide chute a bit but it was holing out underneath so I didn't go far. Hard surface with some spray on my turns. Near the bottom I had to dodge rocks and sticks. Flying down the mountain this late is sweet.

Steep N' Hard
Took on Mt Superior, it still has a good chunk of glacier snow on it. Steep and one slip you could be sliding all the way down and get pretty messed up. I hided up to the top of the first section right before it goes up suicide chute. Skied down a few times on the hard snow with some spray on my turns. Skied down to the bottom or at least almost to the bottom.

Crud Spray
Might as well be skiing on concrete. Felt like I was skiing on a wash board spay the crud snow on my turns. I tried recreating some shots from when I skied this same spot last November, the main difference was last time I was skiing sweet pow. I ended up hitting a jump about 3 times. Good times.

Crowded Slopes
It was a madhouse up at Snowbird. You would have thought it was going to be a sweet powder day. Last day the bird was going to be open and the parking lot was full. This was a first for me skiing this late in the year using the ski lifts. Great feeling. It was cloudy the whole day with a warm breeze in the air. Skied with my brother all day. Lots of slush in the moguls. Hit the jumps when every possible, sometimes other people got in the way because there were so many people at the resort. Many people dressed up as well as skiing in there swim suits. Fun atmosphere. Skied hard on Mineral Basin and Little Cloud. They wouldn't let you ski down to the bottom without paying another $10. After skiing hard for a good four hours we skied down to the bottom with a short hike to the skiers bridge. Great 4th of July skiing.

Checking Chads Gap
Hiking up towards Chads Gap Area to see what I can find. There are two mining piling piles and I ended up at the higher one hitting a jump then hitting a quarter pipe, spinning into a 180 in the air. then I went down to Chads gap, but there wasn't much I could do because the snow was so slow. Skied down a little further down the gully and hit one last jump that I was able to get some air. Skied down through the gully to Alta's Albion Basin parking lot.
