Sand Drops

Dropping into the Draper hole again. Great place for a fun four foot cliff with a soft landing and sand all the way down. It will be a sad day when they fill this place in.

What was I thinking. Hiked up for about an hour to get to the base of Devils Castle at Alta. It was a steep climb to the top of the apron. I made it too small glacer to try and ski it. Not much but I did it anyways. then I skied down the rocky area. It was ok. It was steep and I had to find my line down. Crashed into a log on my second time down. Skied the castle and first time I have skied snow in August.

Locked out, into the sticks

No Trespassing. Most of the places I want to ski are behind fences. Two dirt hills just begging to be skied but instead I ended up driving through the sticks of Herriman Hills till I found a short dirt hill in the woods.

Draper Hole part 2

I liked this place so much I had to do it again. It has the steeps and the sand is soft. There is a fun 4 foot drop off that has a soft landing. Took 4 runs down before leaving.

Looking for a spot to ski in the foothills of Draper. Construction sites are always good, especially when they are building two huge water tanks. The slope was sandy and steep with a few small drop offs. Best find of the rockskiing year. Took about four runs down the sand slope. Good times.

Hunting for a place to ski in the black hills of South Dakota. It didn't look to promising so I settled for a small down hill dirt road. Did that once then moved on to to try the deep grass area with a bit of a slope. It turned out to be all right. The only problem was seeing big rocks under the three feet grass. Tried that a couple of times and crash landed onto some cactus. Ouch! One last run down an a red rock and dirt area. It had no give, so I was luck to just get down in one piece.
